I avoided reading my Bible for YEARS because I didn’t really know where to start when I picked it up. It seemed like every time I opened the book I fell upon some long list of names of people I had never heard about or a story that I had no context for or that I couldn’t understand or interpret. I relied on Sunday morning services to learn everything about the God I had given my life to.

Insert the day I discovered Bible studies. I don’t even remember the first one I did, but it wasn’t the study itself or a group of people or anything like that that was so impactful. It was simply the structure of having a guided study to follow that opened the door for me to start reading and understanding the Word of God. Having an actual study to work through gave me context and illustrations that helped make the Bible come alive for me. It paved the way for me to turn a once-a-week encounter with God into an everyday relationship.
To this day, my favorite way to read through the Bible is alongside a study of some kind. I’ve created a list for you below highlighting just a handful of my most favorite Bible studies for women (and the authors I love) in hopes that it will pave the way for you to know Christ on a more intimate level.
Bible Studies for women REcommendation #1:
The Daily Grace studies by Kristin Schmucker
These are by far, hands down, the most GORGEOUS Bible studies you’ll ever lay your eyes on! Okay, so that part doesn’t exactly impact the soul. BUT it most definitely makes me so happy and it’s worth noting here! These studies are written specifically for women who are seeking Jesus. From cover to cover, they are packed with feminine fonts and photos and colors, all supporting the Biblical truths and conversations that fill the pages inside.
I first encountered The Daily Grace Co. when I was searching for a new Christ-centered podcast to tune in to. The messages and the authenticity that were shared truly captivated me. It quickly became one of my favorite podcasts. It wasn’t until some time later when I downloaded their app that I discovered these Bible studies. They are thought-provoking, insightful, and super affordable!
I also love that with the free Daily Grace app, when you purchase a study you are given a code that unlocks a digital version of the Bible study that you can access from your phone. This works great for me in this busy season of life because I can study the Word of God, with or without my physical book, wherever I am (my kid’s swimming lessons, in a long line at the DMV, or sitting at the park while the kids are running around)!
Oh, and lastly, these stunning Bible studies make the BEST gifts!

BIBLE STUDies for women RECOMMENDATION #2:
The Armor of God by Priscilla Shirer
I’ve completed this study two times through. Even more significantly, I have come back to reference it more times than I could ever count. It has really opened my eyes to the spiritual warfare that rages all around us on the daily. And it has guided me through the scriptures that teach us to properly equip ourselves for these battles.

Priscilla is one of the most educated in the Word, passionate, on-fire for Jesus mentors I’ve come across. She knows her stuff and she is gifted in teaching. Priscilla has a way of helping me really understand things in the Bible that I’ve otherwise struggled to grasp.
Priscilla has many other excellent Bible studies available. I’ve never marked up any other study more than I’ve highlighted and underlined and made notes in this one, though. I think that alone speaks to how much I really learned in The Armor of God study.
It’s practical. It’s eye-opening. And it’s been an incredible resource for me in my personal faith journey.
BIBLE STUDies for women RECOMMENDATION #3:
Finding I Am by Lysa TerKeurst
If you want to press into the heart of the Father, look no further than this Bible study right here. Finding I Am walks us through the 7 different I Am statements that Jesus made (found in the Gospel of John).

I am the Bread of Life.
I am the Light of the World.
I am the Gate.
I am the Good Shepherd.
I am the Resurrection and the Life.
I am the Way and the Truth and the Life.
I am the True Vine.
I’m guessing you’ve heard of many, if not all of these statements. But to what degree could you expand on these pillars of God’s character? Diving deep into each part of the identity of Christ gave me new perspective, appreciation, and understanding.
Because we can only share Jesus with others to the extent that we know Him ourselves.
So if we desire to shine his light and build his kingdom, we must dedicate ourselves to really, intimately knowing him. This Bible study is a great resource for that!
BIBLE STUDies for women RECOMMENDATION #4:
Nehemiah by Kelly Minter
This was one of the first Bible studies I went through on my own (apart from any organized group study), and it really molded my heart and motivated me to press closer into Jesus and to listen to his call on my life within my own community and around the world.

There is so much hurt and suffering and injustice in our nation (and across the globe) right now, and this study of Nehemiah will inspire and challenge you step into the things that are hard and uncomfortable and messy and to see things the way that God sees them. I’m not really sure there is any study out there that is more applicable to our current cultural struggles than this one!
The prayer over this study is that God would break our hearts to restore the broken. That is a worthy and powerful and beautiful thing to step into, isn’t it?
If you can, get the videos that accompany this study. In fact, I’ll suggest that for every study you do with Kelly Minter. The videos she shares really help bring the whole message to life and if you’re like me, you just learn better this way!
BIBLE STUDies for women RECOMMENDATION #5:
All Things New by Kelly Minter
You have a heart for being a kingdom builder. For spreading the gospel through both your words and your actions. And if we’re being honest, that can get exhausting sometimes, can’t it? The culture we live in today is filled to the brim with problems and sin and heartache. Living out the gospel in our world is challenging to say the least.

But that isn’t anything new! Paul experienced these same struggles and through this Bible study on 2 Corinthians, we can learn about the grace, and compassion, and the power of genuine relationships in the ministry of the gospel that actually usher in the Good News amidst the chaos of our culture.
In this Bible study, Kelly helps us unpack the truth that God makes all things new and she challenges us to live this message out to the world around us.
